Top 5 Blog Posts Of The Week #2

Hello, I hope you are doing well.

We are now on our second week of the series Top Blog Posts of the Week. I hope you guys are enjoying this! Anyway, it has been a tough week for me, I voluntarily laid myself off because a number of our clients have now backed off and I wasn’t doing any profession-related projects lately. I was still given my salary despite the fact that I haven’t been really working and I felt guilty about it so I asked my boss for a time-out and I requested to be excluded from receiving salary.

As a result I am now facing a big question mark, how do I get to monetize this blog? I really have no idea where to start, if you have some tips please do leave a comment!

Anyway, that aside, let’s get on with my favorite posts of the week. As usual you just have to click on the photos to get directly to the mentioned posts. Enjoy!

  1. Sorry to hear it’s been a tough week. Sending you well wishes, and glad you’re doing what you feel is right for you right now.

As for how to monetize your blog, there are lots of options! One quick and easy thing you could set up while you consider all those options is a one-off donation button. I recently started using Ko-Fi, for instance – but there are other similar options like Buy Me a Coffee. It may not bring in lots, but every little note and donation received can really boost your spirit! 🙂

  2. Hi, Princess! I really hope you’re doing well now.

I have started monetizing my blog when I got self-hosted. I have applied to Google Adsense which took a lot of time but I got accepted last week, so hooray! I’ve been looking at reports and I’m making very few dollars because of the ads but I’m so happy about it because at least, I finally started. Aside from advertisements, I also applied to affiliate partnerships but I haven’t earned a single peso from it yet.

    1. Hello Jirah, thank you so much for the insights! Unfortunately for me, I am not self-hosted. By the way, wow!! Congratulations to you!! I’m not much of a tech person though, I already am feeling overwhelmed by the amount of work it takes to self-host, just by thinking about it. I admire you for going into that direction. I’ll look into affiliate partnerships and see where my blog can fit. Thank you so much for this! I really appreciate it, sending you a warm hug! ❤️

      1. There are a lot of affiliate partnerships you can apply to. You can look through Pinterest to find some! You’re very much welcome and best of luck with the monetization of your blog! ❤

  3. I love these posts so much – always introduces me to such cool new bloggers!

In regards to monetizing your blog, you need to incorporate Ad Sense ASAP – but that requires you to be able to edit your HTML which I believe is a higher tier of WordPress plans. I have been preparing for when I gain a bit more traction, so hopefully before the end of the year I will start putting it into place. You should also look at reaching out to companies – PR people of your favourite local brands to write posts for them! I was given this tip a while back and have yet to try it. Could be worth looking into. Hope you are well, xo

    1. Hello Xandria, thank you so much for dropping by. Yes, the problem with being not self-hosted is that we need to upgrade plans to avail the ads feature. I’m excited to learn that you have been planning on monetizing your blog, I love reading your posts! I’m pretty positive you can get there! Thank you for these tips, I’ll research about how to reach out to companies, although that sounds intimidating for me. I hope I can push myself into it! Thank you so much for leaving these kind words! Sending you a hug! ❤️

    1. Hello Ave, thank you for the kind words, you are sweet! I’ll look into creating digital products. Although I’m not much of a creative person, but I’ll see what I can do! I sincerely appreciate these tips, thank you!! Sending you a warm hug! ❤️
